Desktop Shortcut to Outlook (Outlook 2003 XP2)

I have a shortcut to Outlook on the desktop of this computer. If I double click it then it opens Outlook, as you would expect. If I right click it and choose properties then instead of showing me the properties of the shortcut file, it opens mail setup (as though I had chosen Mail from the control panel). I did nothing special to create this shortcut, it just appeared when I installed Office.

On my laptop - configured by the IT people at work - I have a shortcut to Outlook on the desktop. When I right click this it shows the standard file properties dialog, although the target is greyed out and says "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003". How can I get a shortcut like the one I have at home on this laptop?

That worked a treat, thank you. I guess my desktop computer must have been upgraded from a previous version of Outlook.
