    Microsoft OneCare to cost $49.99

    Funny, I thought it was going to be <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> for home users...

    PC World (no, the US magazine, thank heavens!) has a factual take on this, as does The Register.

    That's OK by me, John. I don't *want* Microsoft "protecting" my machine automatically. I take care of that myself, thanks, and it won't cost me $50 a year for something I don't want. <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15>
