What do you mean by an "Excel query"?

Re: Excel Query Questions (Excel 2003)

Sorry Hans: I'm heavily involved with 2 courses (Excel and Access) and, while working with Excel, I remembered I needed to post these questions; hence my brain confusion. Of course I meant Access Queries. Hopefully, you can still help.

    Access Query Questions (Access 2003)

Subject edited by HansV - Excel > Access

Here are a couple of questions re Excel queries you could perhaps help me out with:
    1) If one creates a new field in a query (non-calculating) how can they quickly populate this field in the Dynaset with the same entry?
    2) There exists a Table of 20 fields. The user decides to use two queries to break these fields into 10 fields per query. Once the use of this method is complete, can the user use another query to join the two queries and get all the data from the 20 fields back together?
    3) If you have several fields in a query and one is the year and another is the month (1 through 12). How can you apply criteria so that, for example, the 7th month in 2003 does not appear when the query is run?
Thanks in advance for any info.

OK, I edited the subject and moved the thread to the Access forum.

    1) I don't understand this question. Do you mean a new field in a table? And if so, YOU will have to indicate how it should be populated.
    2) You can use a query based on the table with all 20 fields.
    3) Enter Not 2003 in the first Criteria row under the year field, and Not 7 in the second (not the first!) Criteria row under the month field.
