Excel not a valid Win32 Application (97/sr2)

When caller launches Excel or attempts to open a spreadsheet, they receives prompt, 'Excel.exe is not a valid Win32 Application''. We are using imanage for our document management system. Our present resolution is to reinstall Excel. Any suggestions how to quickly allow callers to launch excel or open spreadsheets?

Try re-registering Excel before you go through all the hassle of re-installing.

From the Start | Run dialog use the command line [your path to Excel]Excel.exe /regserver

This may work - it has fo me in the past.
