    Unlink Split Tables (Access 2003)

I used the Database Utilities, Database Splitter to move the tables for multiple users. As would be expected, the management decided to change the tables and add fields. With the tables split I cannot add fields or modify the fields. Is there a method to UNSPLIT the Tables and bring them back to a single user status?

Re: Unlink Split Tables (Access 2003)

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

The database splitter creates two databases: a backend database containing only tables, and a frontend database containing all other database objects (queries, forms, etc.).
You cannot modify the design of the tables from the frontend, but you can in the backend. So there is no need to "unsplit" the database; just open the backend database, then open a table in design view to add or modify fields. When you save the changes, the linked tables in the frontend database will automatically reflect the changes.
