'This Machine Only' (MSO 2003 SP-2)

Don't mean to beat a staggering horse, but this really irks the stuffing out of me:

    To re-iterate:

When I'm setting up a new rule, I walk through the steps to create it, and somehow, somewhere while I am in the screen for picking the criteria - ("What do you want to do with ...) , just as, for instance, I pick a folder for the mail to be move to (at time of receipt), after I pick the folder, when I get back to the criteria screen, the "this machine only" option has appeared (it was not there before) and is checked.

This is only a bit of a PITA, but, if I (don't notice or see it and ) don't turn it off, that rule will NOT show up in the "Run Rules Now" listing -- not until I go back and turn off the "this machine only".

I cannot believe or understand two things:

First, that I am the only fool that has this problem, and secondly, since it is as predictable as a sunrise,

There is no way to turn it off, or fix it, or figger what's causing it in the first place!

Any ideas or (short of "just ignore it") suggestions?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Well, I was going to suggest some of the MS public forums but I see you've already been there and have received responses. MVP's have answered this question, and the common consensus seems to be that for some users (especially if rules have been imported or transferred), the only option is to go back and uncheck the "for this machine only" option. So you are well aware that you are not alone with this problem, you are aware of what you have to do to solve the problem, and if you choose to ignore the suggestions, you will probably continue to have this problem.
