    AOL Problem

I cancelled my AOL dial-up account and had a cable connection installed by Adelphia. Several days later I deleted the AOL software.

Now if I attempt to update software, Diskeeper for example, I get the following message "main.idx database file is damaged (01.00005).

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is there a solution?

    Thanks

I don't know a solution, but it might be useful if you told us which version of Windows you are running.

Did you simply delete AOL, or uninstall it? Googling on the error message indicates a corrupt AOL installation - it may be worth re-installing it and then uninstalling it again. (Make sure you are running as an admin if using XP.)

Also: if multipe versions of AOL are listed in Installed Programs list, start uninstalling from the higher one (v.9), then next high (v.8) ets.
