View days of week (Outlook 2003 SP2)

Looking for a way to have the days of the week show on the calendar in Day/Week/Month View. ie. Monday, or Mon., Tuesday, Tues. etc. show up with the dates. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    From a relative newbie.

I thought Outlook always gave some indication of the day of the week, even if only S M T W T F S. Where are they lacking?

For the Daily View under Day/Week/Month Outlook takes the System Long Date Format specified in the Control Panel under "Regional and Language Options", which can be modified in XP by clicking the Customize button. Other Day/Week/Month Views also get their date display setting from other parts of this dialog.

Thanks for the quick responses. I understand the daily view related to the control panel settings. What I am after is to have the days of the week displayed when I am in week or month view. Presently they do not appear. Thanks.

Could you post a screenshot? Please keep its size to 640 x 480 pixels or less. See A Guide to Attaching Screenshots for instructions.

That's puzzling, I have the day of the week, in either three-letter abbreviation form or complete word form, in every Day/Week/Month View option. I'll wait for your screen post as Hans requested, but, I'm wondering how big your screen resolution is.

Thanks all for taking the time to review and post. It is appreciated.

Things now seem to be ok. Had a problem installing spywareblaster and in searching found a solution. Required that I change regional settings to English US. Once I did that, it not only allowed the installation, it also "fixed" my Outlook problem. I then used the date settings (long form) as defaulted to under the U.S. English under the Candian English settings and low and behold....... I now have Days of the week showing in my calendar.

Must be one of those things where the U.S. versions thinks its the only and true version of things.

Thanks again..... Its nice to be able to have someplace to go for help and find such a supportive community.

Glad to see the problem got solved. The US-centricity of MS products causes a lot of problems with dates and date formats, more so in Excel.

But isn't the US annexing Canada soon?

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

Our new "Leader"???? would like to think so. But I think he will find an uprising similar to the General Strike of Winnipeg in 1919 (see http://www.civilization.ca/hist/labour/labh22e.html for more information)

Thanks again for the help and suggestions... us newbies need it.
