    Admin Password (XP Pro SP2)

I have a user in a small office network who has managed to change the only Administrator Log-In password and has no clue how. While I have other users set-up on the box, none have administrative rights. Is there a way to gain or recover admin rights on this PC?

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

I prefer this tool. You do need to type commands to a prompt, but it has good instructions, is quick, and seems to work well.

Thank you Stuart --It looks as though I'll give this one a shot. When I bought the PC from Compaq it of course doesn't come with a System Disk any more. I appreciate your help

Compaq PCs used to ship with a recovery disk, that would restore the PC and applications to the same state as when they shipped, but in this case even a proper Windows CD with recovery console would only be of limited help.

The site I pointed you to will help you build a bootable CD or floppy for you and you just have to follow the instructions to recover your password.
