You are asking a very common question on this part of the forum which is very difficult to answer as it obviously depends on your budget. I am doing some work for a small company at the moment who require a small website and they are on a very limited budget (until they go global )

They are using http://www.webfusion.co.uk/hosting/ if you want predefined pages you could download a few examples from the internet

Why try and limit yourself to the UK. A lot of hosts are in different countries and a lot have been moved. So what is in the UK today may not be next week.

Check around for the requirements and price and go there. I use http://www.1and1.com, and they start at $2.99 (USD) and up per month.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

For 1 & 1, the trade name of a major German company offering bargain pricing in North America and elsewhere, you will want the UK URL: http://www.1and1.co.uk/

This site also might be useful: Web hosting UK - UK.Tophosts.com

Re: Registering a Website

I would like to register a domain name with the suffix .pl, for Poland, eg www.name.pl. The sites mentioned don't allow for this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is not as flippant as it first sounds, but I have found this link to Google Poland I did a search in there and there are plenty of links to be found on how to register with Poland....may be worth a try

Thanks' Jerry. Looks good. They don't do web hosting so I can't set-up web pages. Wonder Iif could transfer the domain name to someone who does.

Don't know about that, pity we don't have any Polish Loungers. We certainly have a group of well travelled mainland European Loungers that may have had some experience of this, sorry I cannot help any further on this

Re: Registering a Website

Companies that serve the corporate market typically have local agents that coordinate registrations in country-code domains that are not wide open. Here are some, but I am not in a position to make a specific recommendation to use any of them:

NetNames - http://www.netnames.co.uk/

Marcaria.com - http://www.marcaria.com/register/domain/do...?country=Poland

BB online - http://www.bb-online.co.uk/international/p...h-domains.shtml (found in Google UK)

No way will I reccommend easyspace, since Iomart took them over gone and spoilt the customer care!
Took five months to transfer contact details from my name to another, for one domain all within easyspace & cost

Well, I haven't had any problems - including with customer care, which I have had to contact on a couple of occasions. When were they taken over?
