Re: Error on exist (Excel 2002)

Let the user try Jan Karel Pieterse's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in XL,290455>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in XL<!/post>.

    Error on exit (Excel 2002)

This is my week for Excel issues. We have a user who sent us this message:

Almost every time I close out of Excel I get the "Microsoft has encountered a problem..." screen. Can you please explain?

Is there a "Normal.dot" file for Excel that could be deleted because it is corrupt?

    Thanks, Hans.

I didn't think to search for startup problems, since our user is having exit issues.

My guess is that the user's issue is caused by the custom toolbars that they use.

Although Pieterse's post was originally intended for startup problems, it is in fact a general troubleshooting guide.

Does the user have code that runs automatically when quitting Excel, for example to delete custom toolbars?

The user wouldn't admit to any code or macros, but did have custom toolbars.

The software seems to be exiting properly now.
