    Why so small?

I'll bet this question has been asked but I know I missed the answer if it was.

Why is the area for composing a new email message so narrow - there's not even anything to the right of the box?

I find it disconcerting to have to scroll in this box to read the few lines of text before posting it.

You can go into your Controls and edit your Display options to make it as wide as you like.

Great fun! I thought the Lounge in its previous form, this one is even better!

The question as to why the text box for posting replies/new threads is limited to 57 characters is a puzzle though. I'm happy to live with it, but since the subject have been raised...

Is there anything that can be done to change it to match the display in read mode more closely? (I understand about using the "Preview" button, but that requires an update each time the text changes.) 142 characters in preview with my current settings.

It would take a lot of coding to cover all the possible different configurations but Scream promises us a 'template' system shortly which may make it feasible.

Ah!! You need to code each width separately?

I hadn't realised, thought it would have just been a parameter setting, a bit like customised page settings for a printer. Windows has just made some of us (me) too lazy.

I shall watch developments with in interest, but won't expect too much too quickly.

    Thank you once more. <img src=/S/bow.gif border=0 alt=bow width=15 height=15>

1 2 3 4 5 <-- these werespaced accross the page to line up under the zeros, for easy of reading. I assume the software strips out extra spaces.

I've just checked this, width is now at 80, up from 50, but the box truncates at 57. Hence the "ruler" at the top of this post.

Incidently I changed the number of lines from 5 to 10 and that part has worked.

(We are talking the settings for "Text Area" are we not?)
