list box with autocomplete (excel 2003)

Does anyone know if the list box or combo box or control box can have an autocomplete option.

so a user can start to type a item in a list and the drop down will find it before they completely type it?

The combo box from the Control Toolbox toolbar has this feature. Set its MatchEntry property to 0 - fmMatchEntryFirstLetter or 1 - fmMatchEntryComplete (the default value).

    yes thanks,

on onther annoying this with the combobox is when you have activated the list and use your mouse scroll instead of scrolling throught the list the the worksheet scrolls with the list following it,
    can this be prevented?

You'd need complicated Windows API code (as far as I know) to make the mouse wheel scroll the combo box.
