Import a vCalendar file (MSO 2003)

(Edited by Leif to make link live - see the quick guide and/or <!help=19>Help 19<!/help> - it's really not that difficult and is very helpful to others.)

I came across an online group scheduling app called MediaBee (http://www.mediabee.com). Thought of it as a real convenient item for distant co-workers etc.

You can set it to notify you daily via e-mail vCalendar attachments of calendar changes, which it does to me.

Except I cannot get the items to import. The items attached (zipped) are one of the vcs files sent to me (no worry, there are no appts or items in it) and a graphic of the error, and a text file showing the error link.

It says I am importing a recurring lunar event? That I need to set my calendar to Gregorian -- which it is.

Anybody have a clue what's happening here?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Have you checked the website in question in case it is a known issue? -They have a FAQ and forum at http://www.mediabee.com/forum/

    Leif:

Yea, I have. I'm really not trying to drive you guys totally nuts... really.

No, they basically told me it was an Outlook issue... which I don't think, but I figured I make sure as well... 'cause the error message is coming from MS... but since I cannot open the appt., I cannot verify anything about it.

Was that a typical vcs file? Its contents (viewed in Notepad) consist only of the following:

    END:VCALENDAR

Maybe the attachment got corrupted on its way to you?

    Jefferson:

It was "typical" for them... empty 'cause they send it out daily, and I had nothing pending at the time...

I didn't expect to see any entry as there wasn't one... I would however like to figure out what the heck the Lunar" issue is/was.

Well, it's hard to test without a valid appointment file. Can you create some bogus entries and get the vcs files for those and post them?

I'll set a couple up today... then I'll get notice in the am, and get back to you then.

    Thanks Jefferson.
