GETPIVOTDATA (Excel 97)

Is it possible to use a text formula as the NAME argument in the GETPIVOTDATA function?

    Re: GETPIVOTDATA (Excel 97)

Not sure exactly what you mean, but
=GETPIVOTDATA(A2,A1)]

should return the value of the Field named in A1, for a PivotTable starting in A2. For example if you have a PT to show the number of Items sold per month by color, and you have March Blue as text in A1, then the above formula should return the number of red items sold in March.
