    Memo Field Usage (A3K)

    I have a memo field which is used to enter information on an ongoing, incremental fashion. That is, additons can be added to it when the user feels it
    Cheers,

    [Edit: amended .Selstart line to equal <code>Len(strHeading) - 2</code> rather than -1; also added smart alec joke. - Rory]

    I would use something like:
    <pre> Dim strHeading As String
    strHeading = Format$(Now, "mmmm d, yyyy @ h:mm AM/PM") & " - " & _
    Me!txt_F36_UserId_By & vbCrLf & vbCrLf
    With Me!txt_RepairNote
    .Value = strHeading & .Value
    .SetFocus
    .SelStart = Len(strHeading) - 2
    End With
    </pre>

    This assumes that <code>txt_F36_UserId_By</code>
    is a control on your form.

    PS Where did you get your copy of Access 3000 from? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    HTH.

    I should also add that you should be able to adapt your current code to simply use:
    <code>SendKeys Format(Now, "mmmm d, yyyy @ h:mm AM/PM") & " - " & txt_F36_UserId_By</code>

    Rory,

    Thanks again for both clarifications. I picked up Access 3000 to while away the hours while I was waiting for my Nikon D200.

    But where? Most of us are at least 997 versions behind...

    Just remember: if it's the Beta version, it time expires in June 2999!

    Hans / Rory

    Forgot to tell you gentlemen about my time travel machine. And also my quickly, advancing senility and inability to type correctly. What I'm really using is Access Two Thousand and Three. I think?

    I've seen A3k pop up a few times, and was starting to get jealous that I could only acquire 2k3 <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
