Hang up using UDF

I have an AMD k5-2 500Mhz Via chipset m/c running Win ME.

When installing UDF v1.5, software from either CD_Direct or NTI_Direct, my PC grinds to a halt. The mouse and keyboard locks up, with no option but to use the 3 fingered shuffle.

Has anyone else experienced this? Got a solution?

Cheers,

Peter

Re: Hang up using UDF

I had a world of experiences with the Via chipsets. Most often they were resolved by downloading the from the VIA website. Something to try, anyway.

You might also consider flashing your BIOS to the latest revision available.

Re: Hang up using UDF

Tried, as you kindly suggested, to no avail.
After numerous attempts at reordering driver installations, I decided to upgrade to Win2000.

This worked a treat, all devices supported, the wonders of NTFS and the UDF software worked seemlessly.

Cheers.
