    Table/row page break (Word 2000,2002)

    Am I missing something? In Word2000 and Word2002 I can effect page breaks for both rows and tables in VBA, but can't find the (Word menu) item for the table page break. My little test sub tells me that it works, it's allowable to me as a VBAer, but the Table page break does not appear to be available to you, the end-user.
    <pre>Sub test()
    With Selection.Tables(1)
    .<font color=red>AllowPageBreaks</font color=red> = True
    .Rows(4).<font color=448800>AllowBreakAcrossPages</font color=448800> = True
    End With
    End Sub
    </pre>

    It seems you're correct - I can't find an equivalent in the user interface.

    Re: Table/row page break (Word 2000,2002)

    Thanks.
    (later) I've thought/explored a bit more.
    The end-user is restricted to MSoft's provisions in the menu system.
    I can find no mention of "Table Page Break" in the Commands tab/list in the Customize menu, although other esoteric commands appear there.

    Thus I see at least a three-level system here:
    (1) Commands provided in the Word menu system. 98% of end-users think that this is Word's offering.
    (2) Commands provided in Word's Customize Commands tab. 1% of end-users know about these and make use of some of them.
    (3) The .Properties and .Methods of the known universe. Of the VBAers who represent the remaining 1% of end-users, perhaps 5% are prepared to wade in up to their hips.

    This reinforces my belief that the power of MSWord (Excel et al.) lies largely untapped.

    The three levels are there, but I'm not too sure they're a system. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    hah! I lunched with my technical writer friend and waxed eloquent about what I'd learned over the past 3 days.
    He said I should completely re-write the Word end-user interface.
    I think he's correct.

    Microsoft is beating you to it with the next version of Office. I think it's going to have the same interface as Windows Media Player, but I only squinted briefly at the screen shots.
