    Margin Release (MSO 2003)

Is there any one-time margin release in Word? I can't find anything except to change the page formats.

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

You can drag the paragraph margin in the ruler.

    Re: Margin Release (MSO 2003)

    Hans:

    I did this all wrong...

I want / wanted to be able to print to a 3" x 3" square. And I needed more than one page of it. That's what had started the whole thread earlier about multiple page printings.

So I had set up page size to 3" x 3", and then set the printing to 4 pages to the sheet. But then, (duh!) there aren't any margins to print outside since there's no (virtual) paper!

So, I'm seeing that what I need is some type of table setup maybe, where the table cells are 3x3, and then when I wanted release margins I could make the one cell bigger (I can, yes?).

Or maybe, Hans, a spreadsheet (Excel) would be even easier? But since I'm going to need this more than just once, I had originally thought to use Word. But now...

    ??

    Chuck Billow

Yes, a table would be a possibility - create a table with 2 rows and 2 columns, and adjust the size of the rows and columns as needed.

Do you want to print labels or something resembling labels? If so, try Tools | Letters and Mailings | Envelopes and Labels.

    Hans:

Yes, it took me a while to realize the option, but labels is a good one.

I've been writing postcards (roughly a 3x3" print area, and what I do is type it (my handwriting is atrocious) and paste it on the postcard, hence the 3x3 print area and the multiple pages per sheet.

At the same time, I wanted to be able to put the person's e-mail address "on file" with the e-mail, and they don't often fit in a 3" line, hence the margin release...

    But maybe labels...

    Chuck

    Hans:

    Added comment:
Another issue is the label choices. As I am using these to place on postcards to allow for typing postcard text, the sizes available don't make maximum use of the space available. Control of cell height and width might do better.

Although using tables would format the text properly, I don't see where when printing in Word I can select just an area to print, but rather whole pages...

May using Excel would be a more concise and efficient move?
