    drag and drop (office xp)

Sometimes when working on a word document I suddenly can't drag and drop with the mouse; the "no way" symbol appears. Why?

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Shouldn't this question be in the Word forum? I can move it there if needed.

Yes, please. This is my first message and I guess I didn't do it correctly. And I'm not sure if Word and Office XP Word are the same thing. Are they? Thanks.

Windows XP is the operating system that controls everything your PC does.

Office XP is a suite of application programs. Among its components are:
    Word - a text processor
Excel - a spreadsheet program (for calculations, charts etc.)
PowerPoint - a slide show presentation program
    Access - a database program
Outlook - an e-mail program and calendar
(Not every configuration of Office contains all of the above)

Can you detect a pattern when and/or where this happens?

Word is usually set to automatically save some info about open document every ten minutes or so. If you are working with large documents, the saving can take some time. During this time, you won't be able to do anything in Word.
