Mail Merge (phone number format) (Word 2003/SP 1)

I am doing an address mail merge from Access into Word. I want to include the phone numbers in the mail merge. This is what I get. [

Right-click the phone number merge field.
Select Toggle Field Codes from the popup menu.
Make it look like this:

{ MERGEFIELD Phone # "(000) 000 0000" }
or
{ MERGEFIELD Phone # " 000-000-0000" }

Press F9 to hide field codes and to update the field.

Ok, I used the second option, but it doesn't fill in the (-) minus sign. I read in another post that it confuses word or something to that effect, causing it to subtract numbers, etc. Anything to that?

Try
# "000'-'000'-'0000"
as formatting string, i.e. single quotes around the hyphens.
