Supplementary converters under XP (Word '97 SR2)

I have Word '97 SR2 and the supplementary converters, which come with instructions to place them "in the Word directory". I placed them in the directory on my machine running XP that also contains the Office executables including winword.exe -- C:Program Files Microsoft Office but their conversions don't come up. What is to do? I need access to my old WordStar files...Thanks.

Do you have the file WRDSTR32.CNV ? If so, you should put it in:

    C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedTextConv

A quick search on Google revealed Graham Mayor's website which suggests that C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedTextConv is the location for the converter files. This is backed up by other links I found there too.

Note that the above website says that Microsoft withdrew the filters listed there because of the potential of compromised security so you might want to investigate that further.
