Mail Merge (Microsoft 97 Excel )
I am trying to use Microsoft Excel data as a mailing list in Word.
I get to the Data Source, Get Data, Open Data Source. Then I go to Files of Type change that to
MS Excel Worksheets click on my cust list. Then I receive a ERROR message (Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to microsoft Excel to complete the current task.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong.

If you already had Excel open, try closing it before doing the merge. If you've already tried that, or that doesn't work, it then starts getting tricky.
