    Prompt for input (03)

I'm drawing a blank today and my search did not return what I am after.

I thought there is a line of code that will prompt the user for data entry; similar to asking for a password. One would not have to create a userform or text box.

    It must be me.... <img src=/S/bananas.gif border=0 alt=bananas width=33 height=35>

    Thanks,
    John

I think you want the InputBox function.

    Rory,

That would be it. I need a jolt and the coffee was not doing it.

Note that they are a twosome:

The inputbox function and the inputbox method.

    Function:

    Dim sAnswer as String
sAnswer=Inputbox("Please enter some text") 'Check Help for arguments!

    Method:

    Dim vAnswer as Variant
vAnswer=Application.Inputbox("Please enter some text") 'Different arguments, e.g. you can enable selecting a range, check help!
