    Page numbering within sections (WinXP/Word2003)

I have a template that will have 6 sections, some of which may be anything from 2 to 20 pages and contains documents that are related, a 'document pack', rather than pages of one document, if you see the distinction.

I need to have page numbering that goes (in section 1) 1 of 2, 2 of 2, (section 2), 1 of 6, 2, of 6, etc - that is, the 'of #' number has to refer to the number of pages in the section, not the overall number of pages.

Can anyone tell me how to do this, please? I can only get it to give me the total for the document!

    Many thanks

You can use Insert | Field... to insert a SECTIONPAGES field.
And use Insert | Page Numbers..., Format... to specify that page numbering should start at 1 in each section, instead of continuing from the previous section.
Note: close the Page Numbers dialog by clicking Close, not by clicking OK.

Thanks, Hans, that's perfect - I knew I could rely on you!
