Setting a subform to show the most recent entry (Access 2K, Win 2KPro, SQL

I have a db that features a subform which is set to display in form mode, and I want to be able to have the subform display with the most recent record entered. I tried setting the Order By property in the Data tab of the properties of the form to ID DESC and that appears to work only when the moon is in 3-quarters phase and there are no black cats around. (ID, here, is the autonumber for the table; setting the order by on that, if it worked, would unfailingly show the most recent entry).

    Any ideas?

Create a query that orders the records in the table in descending order on ID, and use the query as record source for the subform.
