    pivottable totals (2000)

My boss wants a report on how many people checked in each day and also the grand total for each month. I have made a pivot table that has names and dates when they checked in. Everything looks good but I don't know how to get my grand totals after each month. Please help.
    thanks

On Sheet1, enter the text dMonth in C1.
In C2, enter the formula =DATE(YEAR(B2),MONTH(B2),1)
Double click the fill handle in the lower right corner of C2 to fill down.
Format these cells as mmm yyyy or something like that
    Activate Sheet4.
Click in the pivot table, then activate the pivot table wizard.
Go back to the previous step and extend the source range to include column C.
    Click Next, then click Layout.
Add dMonth to the Row Area, above dDate.
    Click OK, then click Finish.

in column C of your data you could add a month formula. eg in cell c2 put " =Month(b2) "
Then add column C to your pivot table
