Image ALT Text (Firefox 1.5.0.1)

When I hover over an image, its ALT text isn't showing up in my installation of Firefox. When I "View This Page in IE," they show up. For example, the flags in Woody's Lounge. What did I do to my Firefox to cause this, and how can I fix it?

ALT text is not supposed to display, it is designed to only display when the image can not be shown, IE does not follow web standards when it displays ALT text. You can make Firefox display ALT text by using an extension such as Popup ALT Attribute

Thanks, Tony, forgot that. I will add Popup ALT to my extensions. But the site needs a solution for those poor souls who don't subscribe to Woody's Lounge.

What is an easy-to-implement method to have text show up in Firefox when hovering over an image? The site I am looking at is using
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">, no CSS (yet), with images in tables.

Tony, after a little digging around, I found that the TITLE attribute does what I need. Sorry to bother you with such a trival question!

A small top tip for you Sundog is to ensure you you put .....

    This allows cross browser....just my <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15> worth

Great reminder, Jerry! The disparity has been around for awhile, hence <!post=this thread (2003),211622>this thread (2003)<!/post>.
