Dial Up Activates When 1st Booting Up Windows

When I first bring up windows (XP), some my dial up program activates and logs me onto the internet. I have looked at all of the places that I know of to deactivate this, but to no avail. Please help (psyrr@infostations.net)

At lot of programs install a little loader that runs invisibly at startup and checks for updates, sometimes after a delay. I believe RealPlayer does this, as one example.

If you use a program like AutoRuns from SysInternals, you can check on what is getting running when you start your computer.

    1. Update your Antivirus program and perform full system scan.

    2. Download and install anti-spyware program (as Spybot or Lavasoft Ad-Aware), update definitions and perform full system scan. Reboot your computer and repeat the scan, if necessary.

    3. When your computer will be free of viruses and spyware, click Start | Run, type MSCONFIG and hit Enter. On System Configuration Utility window, click Startup tab and uncheck all unnecessary and unknown programs. Do not uncheck Antivirus program! Reboot your computer.
