Strange front end error (xp 2k)

I have a typical front end back end set up. front ends on individual machines, back end on the server. On some pc's i'm getting an error message ' Compile Error - Can't find object or library '

Settings is a linked table in the back end. (its just used as a flag)

The word dbOpenSnapshot is highlighted, when i get the error.

The front end is the same version copied from the server, but the error only happens on some machines, so i'm
guessing its something not added into that remote machines version of access. but. i have no idea what.

Private Sub Form_Load()
On Error Resume Next
Dim db As DAO.Database
Dim snp As DAO.Recordset
Dim msg As String

Dim CurrentVersion As Integer, ThisVersion As Integer

Set db = CurrentDb
Set snp = db.OpenRecordset("Settings", dbOpenSnapshot )

'----------------dlookupbit for name -------------------------------------------------------
Call NetworkUserName

MyName = DLookup("Name", "TLS", "eNumber = " & Chr(34) & NetworkUserName & Chr(34))

Me![User] = NetworkUserName & " - " & MyName

If snp![logoff] Then
msg = "The database is closed for updating" & vbCrLf & vbCrLf & "Please try later."
MsgBox msg
End If

Re: Strange front end error (xp 2k)

First, check for missing references on the problem PC - select Tools | References... in the Visual Basic Editor. Are there references starting with MISSING?

You can also try re-registering DAO on the problem PC:
- Quit Access.
- Select Start | Run...
- Type

Regsvr32 "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDAODao360.dll"

- Click OK or press Enter.
