    maximum records in a mailmerge (2003 SP1)

Does anyone know what the maximum number of records are that you can sensibly try to mailmerge to a printer? We come up with an error here that says out of range and we have to filter our results to print so many at a time. The client is upset at this and wants to print the lot in one go but I suspect we may be hitting a limit of some sort.

    Thanks

It depends on the size of the document - in my experience it's best not to print more than 200 pages or so at one time, so with a one-page document you could do 200 at a time, but with a ten-page document only 20 or so. Of course, available memory plays a role too, and the type of printer too.

Thanks very much for that useful information - I have ensured that it is retained for future use.
