Removing Security Bloc (MSO 2003)

Does anyone know how to adjust the security in Outlook (2003) to allow (zip) files to be opened when received as attachments?

I did the following, but I still get the security warning/black.

    Regards,

I suspect it may be in the way you have entered the allowable extensions. Looking at the instructions here at Slipstick, I don't think you want to have

.zip

    and

*.zip

and you probably shouldn't end with a semi-colon.

    Leif:

Yea, I entered the zip entry both ways when I had a problem, on the "theory" that if the one didn't work (and was skipped) that other would... you could be right about the semicolon as well.

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Your registry entry removes ZIP from Level 1. I'm pretty sure that ZIP is not a Level 1 extension. Level 1 attachments, like EXE files, are totally blocked and are just reported in the yellow stripe at the top of the window when you open the message.

ZIP probably is a Level 2 extension. Level 2 attachments prompt the user with the open/save dialog. This would be consistent with my experience: I do not have any "removes" in my registry, and I get the dialog for ZIP files.

Added: You should edit your attachment to remove your cache folder name.
