Announcing: Name Manager 4.0 Beta (97, 2000,xp,2003)

Hi everyone!

Finally I got round to doing what has been requested a lot of times for the Name Manager: being able to rename a name.

Name Manager now includes a rename option, which will enable you to change the name of a name and have all objects that use that name update too. (Well, that is, that is the intention)!

It looks like this (screenshot below):

This new feature has yet to be tested thoroughly though, so that is why this version is still in Beta stage.
Test drive version 4 and report any problems to me.

Hint: to rename a name, double click on the name in the list and change it in the subsequent inputbox.

Renaming a name that referred to a fixed range worked fine! Formulas using the name were updated correctly.

When I tried to rename a name that referred to a formula, I got an error message and the Define Name dialog appeared with the US English version of the formula. This is not valid on my PC because
a) My version of Excel uses Dutch function names.
My system uses semicolon as list separator, not comma.
When I closed the dialog, the definition of the name had changed to =1 without the possibility of undoing this.

Thanks Hans,

I have already fixed that issue in the current download (put up about 10 minutes ago).

I've also added the option to edit the name's name by hitting F2.
