    MS updates ALL (Windows XP)

I use to have my laptop set up to automatically inform me and get ANY/ALL MS operating system and Office updates. Now, that Icon is gone and I don't recall how I did this. Does someone have this working and can reeducate me? Thanks! : )

Try Start | Control Panel | Security Center. Click Automatic Updates.

This sounded WonDerFul. But, when I go there, mine is grayed out. Do I speak to my system admin person and get this to allow this? Is there another alternative? Thanks : )

Is it possible that they have started using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and implemented a Group Policy to force updates at the specified day and time?

There is a registry change which would remove this, but it would not be wise to implement this without checking...

As John Gray notes, it might be set by IT. I would check with your sysadmin.
