Convert to Unicode (MSO 2003_SP-2)

If my PST file is currently in the 'old' format and I want to convert it to Unicode, I'm pretty sure I can set up a new file, and then copy over the data (will 'drag/drop' work) from old to new.

But what of the rules, custom toolbars etc.? What can I do to bring those over as well? Or, if I keep all the files in Cocuments and Settings%User%Application DataMicrosoftOutlook as is, will the customizing hold up for the new file?

I'm going to avoid the main issues -- such as whether the copying will work and whether it is even worth doing -- and deal with some of the peripheral questions.

Rules: To avoid rule loss, use the Export and Import functions.

Toolbar Customizations: These are stored in an external file with a name similar to outcmd.dat, in your profile folder, and apply to Outlook itself rather than any particular data file.

Etc: Not sure what the etc. might be... macros are in an external file; but views, fragile and frustrating, seem to be in individual PSTs or OSTs, but I've never really figured them out.

I think that the easy answer to that is prevention. I am often having to archive because of size limits to the 'old' format, where the Unicode format has a limit of 33TB, which would pretty much make that point moot.

It's going to be a pain I presume, but it should work out OK based on how the 'stuff' is stored.
