    Windows Defender - New version

    A new version of Windows Defender (Beta 2) was released yesterday. (Version 1347, previous version was 1051)

    What's new?
    To quote Microsoft "This release includes enhanced features that reflect ongoing input from customers, as well as Microsoft

    What a remarkable example of marketing-speak! Translated, "We made it better than the previous version".

    I note that installing it seems to delete your previous settings, such as they were.

    On the blog for the Anti-Malware Engineering Team they mention that one can now set it so it will continually show an icon in the system tray (notification area, whatever). In my own briefly readings of the Defender NG's I have seen the kids screaming for this feature, assume they are happy now with one more icon to clutter the task bar area. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
