Hyperlinks (Publisher 2003)

Can someone please tell me how to create hyperlinks in my newsletter that I have created in Publisher. I would like the reader to be able to click on the heading on the front page and have that take the reader to the page with that heading. Also, after I finish my newsletter I convert it to a .pdf file. How can I make those hyperlinks still work once I have converted it to .pdf? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Within Publisher, select (highlight) the appropriate text, and then from the Menu, Insert>hyperlink and go from there. If the final product is to be a pdf document, it would probably be just as easy to create the links with whatever Adobe product you are using.

Thanks! I did figure out how to do this on my own after I had posted. Here is my next question now that I have accomplished that. The only way that I could click on the link and have it take me to the hyperlinked page, I had to depress CTRL while I clicked. So is this the norm? Will I have to put a blurb in my newsletter advising folks to use the CTRL key? Thanks so much for your help.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I am using Adobe Acrobat (full version) and do not know how to create the hyperlinks in Adobe. Can you advise? Thanks in advance.

Hi Carol,
I don't know the answer to your question as I don't have Acrobat. I don't mean to sound patronizing, but have you tried the Acrobat User Manual or the Help facility? This Google search also returns quite a few articles on the subject.

Sorry I wasted your time. I'll look elsewhere. Thanks for your response.

You didn't waste my time Carol, but I can't answer the question if I don't use the product and don't know the answer. I have suggested two sources to which, if you own Acrobat, you have full access, and I've also given you the link to multiple other pages which have the answer to your question. If you choose not to do a little research yourself, then ........

Indeed you did and that's what I meant when I said I would look elsewhere. Thanks for your time. I have no problem with doing reasearch. I answer questions for folks all day long. I actually ordered the book I need today. Just because one owns a program doesn't mean they know everything about it. I will get the book and research it and when I find the answer I will post back so that it will help someone else sometime. Thanks again.

Sorry Carol - I misinterpreted your response. My apologies and good luck with the book.

Carol,
I have found that a file made with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and one checks to see if the links work using the reader that is within version 6, the links do NOT work. But if you were to use the Adobe Reader, the links work.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
