Word is unavailable as e-mail editor (2003 SP2)

Recently, a coworker had her Outlook account moved to a new computer. Now, when she has Word set to be her e-mail editor and she opens e-mail messages, she receives a dialogue box that says "Microsoft Word is set to be your e-mail editor. However, Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same version as Outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead".

Word 2003 SP2 is installed on her computer, and it is the same version as Outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor is OK, but she can't use autocomplete, and it doesn't correct spelling on the fly.

Is there some setting that we are missing?

See if the steps in <!mskb=906307>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 906307<!/mskb> help, though it appears that you have checked some of them.
