Toggle format color (2003)

would like to create a shape that when "right clicked" will provide a menu with a list of fill colours for the shape.

There is a MS shape with "Yes/No box" options that allows this, and changes the color from black to white based on the option choosen. I want to create a circle that will have the option to change to red, green, yellow, blue or black ona dropdown menu

Can anyone advise on how I might do this ?

I don't know exactly how to do this so it will take a bit of research on your behalf to work this out but here is where you can start. The following should give you some key words to start searching the web on (I would recommend Google Groups )

Select the Yes/No box shape on your page and then choose Window > Show Shapesheet. Note the Actions section where you will see the three options which are available on the right click. You will need to modify items here to get colour changes happening. Further down in the shapesheet window you will see a setting for FillForegnd which looks like the likely culprit in setting fill colours.

Let us know if you work this out - I had a quick look but couldn't get to the solution. If you can't find it either then perhaps a workaround would be to use the styles instead.

Select your shape

From the Window menu choose "Show ShapeSheet"

Right click in the shapesheet window and choose "Insert Section..."

Check the "Actions" section and click OK

Click in the new actions section and add rows until you have 5 rows

In the Menu column put ="Red" in the first cell

Fill in the Menu column with the menu entries for the other 4 colours

In the Action column put =SETF(GetRef(FillForegnd),RGB(255,0,0)) in the first cell

Fill in the Menu columns with the RGB values for the other 4 colours

Test that it all works the way you expected[/list]StuartR
