    Converting multiple tables to text (Office 2003 SP2)

    I use a test bank of exam questions to create exam papers. The test bank provides multiple choice questions with the selection of answers in table format. I would like to be able to convert multiple tables to text simultaneously, rather than dealing with each one individually, as there are up to 100 tables to convert.
    Is there any way to achieve this?
    Sincere thanks
    Dianne

    You could run a small macro:

    Sub TablesToText()
    Dim tbl As Table
    For Each tbl In ActiveDocument.Tables
    tbl.ConvertToText Separator:=wdSeparateByTabs
    Next tbl
    Set tbl = Nothing
    End Sub

    This will convert *all* tables in the document. If you'r rather convert only the tables within a part of the document, change ActiveDocument in the macro to Selection, and select the relevant part of the document before running the macro.

    Siincere thanks, Hans. The macro should streamline what is otherwise a very tedious process.
