Creating Timesheets in Excel (Office X for Mac)

Don't let the for Mac part of the version throw you - it's roughly equivalent to Excel 2000. At least I haven't found many differences, certainly not in functions.

I have created a timesheet in Excel. There are three In and Out columns, and a column that totals the Ins and Outs. It works very nicely, except for the problem of shifts that cross midnight. But we've found a way to work around that.

What I can't find a solution for is the problem of rounding up or down to the correct quarter hour. For example, if someone comes in between 7:52 and 8:07 am, I need the total cell to calculate as if the entered time were 8:00 am. If they come in between 8:08 and 8:22 am, I need it to calculate as if the time were 8:15am, etc. Anybody have any idea on how to make that happen? Thanks so much.

If the value is in A1 use:

    =INT(A1/15*60*24+0.5)*15/24/60

Note: 15/24/60 is the "value" for 15 minutes (fraction of a day).

Thank you very much. I'll give it a try. I knew I'd find somebody here with an idea. Thanks.
