importing tab delimited data (access 2003)

    My question is quite simple,

I have about 10 notepad files that have data tab delimited.

I have created a database in access. called wtr db

i would like to put all these notepad files into access each as an individual table.

I was wondering what the best method would be to do this? ie
    create table by entering data,
    create table by using wizard
    or design veiw?

Re: importing tab delimited data (access 2003)

You can use File | Get External Data | Import... to import the text files. If the first line of the text file contains field names, you can indicate this in the Import Text Wizard, and Access will use them. Otherwise, you can specify the field names in the Wizard.
Note: the extension of the text files should be .txt, .asc, .csv or .dat. Access balks at text files with other extensions.
