    Outlook 2000 (Standard)

Using M/S Outlook Rich Text with ticked "use M/S Word to edit email messages" I cannot send attachments eg Word or Excel files. The emails come out for some users with rubbish at the bottom re ....ms exchange encoding..etc etc(No encoding changes to bog standard set up) and for other users nothing at all but the text that accompanies it. Hope someone can help.

it's the rich text format, use plain text.

only outlook can understand RTF and you should use plain text or html unless you know they are also using outlook

html or rtf might be nicer, but if the attachments are wrapped in a winmail.dat, it's not very useful <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

it shouldbe ok in html - if not, use plain text for message with attachments and html for all others.

also - delete the *.nick file - then check the names in contacts and make sure they re not sent to always send in rtf format. if it's happening with html, it could be the contact (if using corp) is set to always use rtf.
