LDAP directory search in Outlook 2003 (Outlook 2003 SP2)

When I open the Address Book in Outlook 2003 and then select my company's LDAP Corporate Directory in the "Show Names from the" box, the program
automatically starts displaying addresses from the Corporate Directory starting from the beginning of the directory and keeps on displaying new addresses until the first 999 addresses are displayed. This happens before you click the Search icon to specify what you are looking for and therefore really slows down finding what you are after. Is there any way to tell Outlook 2003 not to display anything from the Corporate LDAP directory until you have actually specified what you are looking for using the Search icon?

    Welcome to Woody's :Lounge!

Sorry about the lack of replies - your question seems to have everybody stumped. I searched the Microsoft newsgroups about the problem, but nothing relevant came up. <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>
