    Take list get single value making a new list (Excel 2003)

    Hi everyone,

    Was wondering if and excel wizards could help me with something out of my reach.

    I have a list of 50 items in col. A A1:A50

    sometime the values will be repeats later in the list.
    Iwould like to mak a list in starting in C2 which has only the unique names, no repeats. I have completed the list manually, is there a function or macro that could fiqure out if the value in col a has been used once to ignore putting it in the list.

    there will not be more then 10 different values so my list goes to 10.

    thank you

    If you put a header above the list in column A, and put the same header in C1, you can use Data | Filter | Advanced Filter with the Copy to another location and Unique records only options to create a list of unique items.

    If you want to automate this, you can use a simple macro:

    Sub CopyUnique()
    Range(Range("A1"), Range("A1").End(xlDown)).AdvancedFilter _
    Action:=xlFilterCopy, _
    CopyToRange:=Range("C1"), _
    Unique:=True
    End Sub

    See attached version.
