    Israel Independence Day

As I am here in Israel- I would like to point out that even though the lounge thinks it is independence day, it actually was Wednesday May 3. That is becacuse the calendar goes according to the Jewish one, and not the civil calendar.
But anyways- Thanks for remembering us

Actually hidden in the Windows API is a local calendar for each local culture. I have read about it but never managed to implement in in VBA or .NET

We'll look into it, but it might mean that we have to remove the day from the list - I think the script only handles holidays with a fixed date in the Gregorian calendar.

That's all very well for Gregorians, who, best of my knowledge, don't have an independance day .......

    Re: Israel Independence Day

FWIW I wrote a better Calendar Wizard that allows you to have any number of days in a "week", e.g. if you are manager of an oil-rig. I'd not considered using an culture-based calendar. Can you give me some idea of what it's about?

I have a new mod (not yet on the web site) that includes [i]"Calendar now takes the contents of the first cell (top left-hand corner) of the table and tries to recognize it as a day. You can use French or English, upper-or lower-case, and abbreviated forms.

Oil rigs don't operate on a weekly basis, Chris. They operate on shifts and 24-hour periods, world-wide. Sometimes they was more than a 7-day "weekly" report, that's a special circumstance that can be easily handled by allowing the choice of a date range.

My point exactly. My model gives much more flexibility than MSoft's.
There are many industries that do not adhere to a 7-day week; if oil rigs isn't one of them, there are others.
That a client asked me for the feature tells me iit is useful.

    <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> Chris, you *can't* believe that what a client asks for is necessarily what they want or need! <img src=/S/nope.gif border=0 alt=nope width=15 height=15>

The fact that they want a date range doesn't change the length of a week, it just means they want their reports on a different time span. I don't really see why they would need a rearranged calendar for that. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

It was designed for Her Majesty as a Christmas effect. She decided that it reflected Her personality, so She kept it. See <post:=561,431>post 561,431</post:>.

    Re: Israel Independence Day

Charlotte, when you ran the sampler from my web site, roughly what percentage of features did you see that you think exist in the Microsoft product? I find your response to be a tad bitter. It is no business of yours what my client wants, how much they feel like paying for it etc.
It is sufficient for me that a client asks me to perform a task, we agree on the price, and I get it done.
Since this is a government office/agency, I am pretty sure that it's not drugs, and knowing the agency I'm pretty sure its not arms or terrorism, so I have no moral qualms about accepting payment for the project.
Why then should you? Why do you care if a client feels that they want a 6-day week, with Saturday & Sunday collapsed into the sixth column? Or a ten-day week, with, optionally, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun collapsed into one column?

I am, of course, assuming that you actually looked at the template before passing judgement on my client.
