Access as frontend is slow.. (97)
Hi all..i'm using access 97 as a fontend to a postgresql database...the problem is that things have slowed down quite a bit since i've transferred everything from access to postgres.. i suppose...i'm sure it's because Jet gets involved in my queries.. I cannot use pass through queries because 99% of the forms i have must be used to insert data into the postgres tables...I was thinking to switch to ODBCDirect but i don't know anything about it...
My questions are:
If i switch to ODBCDirect, will i gain performance..??
Can anyone point me to a good website where there are tutorials on how to use or even convert access 97 db's to ODBCDirect? I tried searching on microsoft.com but i didn't find anything really that usefull..
Thanks to all!
