FAX number included in my Email 'TO' line (2003)

If my contact in my Outlook Contact list has a FAX number, it is included in my email address. The email will not send in this format, I get an error. How can I get rid of this?
    Thanks

Try prefixing the fax number with at least one letter, for example B for business fax or H for home fax. The fax number will then be hidden from the address book.

Hans, are you telling me there is no "setting" or option to exclude my Contact FAX number from the Email "To" line?
My Outlook is linked to a Legal software program that shares contacts. I cannot make the change you suggested without affecting a whole line of actions.

What exactly do you mean by "included in my email address"?

When I'm selecting multiple email recipients from my Outlook contacts it looks something like:
crq@intelliword.com; Charlotte Quiroz FAX 503-274-7781; Mary@lawfirm.com; Mary Johnson FAX 503-222-2222; (etc.)

I assume that if you click the To... button in a mail message or if you click the address book icon, those addresses are listed separately. Either add only the ones you need, or remove the ones you don't need after adding them.

The only way I know of suppressing the fax items altogether is to prefix the fax number with at least one letter, as I mentioned in my previous reply.

Because Outlook can also operate as a fax client in a Server environment, Outlook 'helpfully' includes fax addresses. This continues to be a major Outlook annoyance. See the links I referenced in <!post=this post,500959>this post<!/post> for discussions and solutions, few of which are very elegant, and some of which cost money.
