    If (2002)

In excel 2002 is it possible to make the result blink if it is true?

    Re: If (2002)

    Hi Keith,

There is no built in feature in Excel to do this, so it will require a macro with a condition. It is not advisable, as it will slow down the performance of the worksheet. I found this web page that illustrate how it can be done with a macro: See Blinking Text here!

This macro is built to cause any text on the sheet to flash that is formatted with a style name called "Flash". It is then triggered manually by running the macro. This can all be modified to run under event, and also the macro can include a conditional to flash text that meets your requirements.

    Cheers
    Regards,
    Rudi

Also be careful if the workbook is to be used by others - blinking items can be dangerous for people susceptible to epileptic fits.

    To re-affirm

Blinking text is bad news as Hans and Rudi mention. I would suggest that you use Conditional Formatting to change the background colour of the cell. I often do something similar for Risk logs Red (high), Amber(medium) Green (Low)...easily done for true or for specific conditions. My <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15> worth.
