Wireless and Power Consumption (WXPP (SP2))

Is it me or my imagination. I have noticed that when I am wireless, and on battery, my wireless connection slows to a crawl. This to me is frustrating. Is there a setting I can change, or is it my imagination?
Thanks John

Who knows what you are imagining, and what other circumstances may be changing - coincidentally or otherwise.
I think you need to do some testing - such as found at adslguide.org - running on both mains and battery. I suggest you do several tests to get an better average set of results.

Apart from that, I can't think of any reason why a wireless connection should be slower, but did you relating to your hardware?

Maybe you have the laptop in a different place when it is plugged in, and there is better wireless coverage there?

Thanks Stuart and Leif. I have been in Las Vegas for the past week. I was on wireless for most of the time down there and didnt notice much difference when I was on battery power. Must of been my imagination.
Thanks John

If your connection is broadband (and I assume it is as there is little point to wireless dialup these days ) you can check your speed online here. HTH

Some of the speedtesters give varying results, I find this one more consistent http://www.broadbandspeedtest.net/ though note you have to give a donation to get your upload speed.
